About
Gideon is an award-winning comic artist, illustrator, cartoonist, and comic writer from Indonesia. He worked with Elex Media Komputindo on book design, childrens story book, illustration from 2003 to 2014; produced more than 40 children’s story book, dozen of comic books, and god know how many illustrations for a spectrum of clients.
He is the creator of ‘Drama pak Nono’ cartoon in Kompas Sunday edition. While still active making short comics and cartoons, he (half-heartedly) teaching communication design at Universitas Multimedia Nusantara. Now, he lives in Australia with his wife, taking his Ph.D. study at Royal Melbourne Insitute of Technology. His study tries to improve the Indonesian comic industry through systemic design framework to empower industry stakeholders in effective policymaking; a research which he always found hard to explain to his family. “Whats that for, Gideon?”
Gideon is a fan of dogs, japanese ramen (always with the risk of being scolded by his wife), Takehiko Inoue, Guy Delisle, and Haruki Murakami.
In his (so many) free-time, he enjoys reading comic books, 3 hours of power-nap, and doomscrolling dog videos.
